Ready! Set! .......

OK I'm gonna do a BLOG.  I wasn't planning on it - but I had lots of people ask me to do a blog... and maybe some of them really mean it...

So I can't really believe it, but I have actually begun my year-long cruising adventure...

I thought this first post should be a couple thank yous to all of those who have helped make this a reality...

First - DAD...  He instilled the spirit of adventure in me and particularly the love of all things related to the sea...  He is with me always and I know he will look over me and keep me safe.  Many of you know that I believe he is re-incarnated as a Dolphin... and nearly every time I sail here in Florida I spot him swimming along side...  Saw him just the other day when I was out with brother Michael and his family...

Second - JANET...  How many husbands have a wife who support such a crazy idea?!!  I give Janet a ton of credit for making this trip a reality.  She has taught me to live life for today and not wait for tomorrow.  I really would not have pulled the trigger on this trip if not for her support and encouragement...  LOVE U JANET!!!  XO

MOM - Mom has always provided tons of love and support and she has helped me to maintain one of Dad's legacies...  God Blessed me with the world's best MOM! ...  see you when I sail in to Annapolis!

The BOAT - Green Ayes here in Florida.

My KIDS - My kids have been a source of inspiration as I considered this trip. They have always encouraged me to 'go for it'... and I am grateful for their support.  I am a lucky man to have such terrific kids - they are hard-working and fun-loving.  No dad on earth could be more proud of such great kids!

Megan/Mike/PENNY (aka Earth's BEST BABY!)

I would also like to dedicate this trip to two important and significant people...

Scott Gifford and Sue Niemic...  These special people left us way too soon and serve as an inspiration to live for today and to enjoy life to the fullest...

To close this first post of my BLOG.. I can sum it up by saying how fortunate I am to be able to make this dream a reality.  Lots of things needed to come together to make this happen.  There are times I thought I was crazy to do this... and as many times I thought I'd be crazy not to do it.
